Lady of America Fitness Clubs
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But businesses are here to make a profit, not compliment other businesses. So when someone comes up with a successful business model, other entrepreneurs flatter their own bank account by copying them.
Lady of America (LOA) fitness for women clubs www.ladyofamerica.com apparently liked the look of Curves fitness centers, spinning-off of the wildly successful women-only workout center concept. Now a successful copy can’t simply open the same business; they must create their own niche to stand out (not to mention avoid copyright infringement lawsuits!). While LOA does offer woman-only facilities and a 30-minute circuit training workout similar to Curves, they do stand out uniquely with their on-site exercise classes and free weights. Many locations also offer free childcare and personal training.
Although there are no LOA franchises near my home (closest to me is California…), I would imagine that this type of center would be great for the woman who has joined Curves in the past and has now found herself wanting to step-up her workout, but still wants an woman-only club. Curves excells at offering a haven to women with little to no workout experience; I can see LOA as a center for women with little to moderate workout experience.
